Role Purpose
Contribute to the origination, structuring, processing and management of ICD’s Infrastructure & Corporate Finance activities in accordance with ICD’s business targets, credit policies, and guidelines.Key Functional Accountabilities and Activities*
Project Sourcing and Origination: *
– Maintain relationships with clients, member country governments, sovereign entities, regulatory bodies and other stakeholders in order to originate projects/transactions for the ICF Division.
– Work closely with various internal stakeholders within ICD and the IsDB Group at large to originate new projects/transactions for ICF Division
– Identify potential credit and project financing transactions to corporates and infrastructure projects
– Participate in the development and execution of client origination and sourcing strategy, taking into consideration target countries, products, sectors, and development goals
– Undertake preliminary appraisal to assess the feasibility potential projects/transactions and their alignment with ICD’s strategy and development objectives, taking into consideration experience from previous projects as applicable
– Process and present the concept review proposals to the investment committee (IC), ensuring proper review and coordination with ICD’s risk, legal and Shariaa functions and obtain necessary approval as applicable
– Upon obtaining concept clearance from the IC, prepare and negotiate mandate letter with the client and have the same executed after obtaining necessary internal clearances.
– Support other team member(s) in deal origination, as required.
• *Project Appraisal and Approval**:

– Work closely with the clients and other stakeholders to obtain necessary documents and information in order to conduct a proper appraisal of the project
– Coordinate internally and externally to ensure selection and appointment of external advisers to support the due diligence and documentation.
– Conduct due diligence of the client and the financing proposal.
– Evaluate risks and opportunities associated with the project in cooperation with its alignment with ICD’s policies and guidelines in coordination with ICD’s risk, legal and Shariaa functions, taking into consideration the client’s ability and willingness to comply with ICD’s standards and practices.
– Initiate and participate in the negotiations with the client and conduct relevant activities.
– Prepare and present the credit financing proposals to the Investment Committee (IC), ensuring proper review and coordination with ICD’s risk, legal, development impact, and Shariaa functions and obtain necessary approval as applicable
– Coordinate with all required parties to ensure that legal documents are prepared and duly executed as per the transaction structure and that the facility is declared effective for disbursement
– Work in conjunction with and support the portfolio management team during project handover as well as afterwards, as required.
– Engage with the client and other relevant stakeholders in deal structuring and financialization of the term sheet as per the guidelines of the IC.
– Perform the necessary tasks and processes in order to secure the required approvals of ICD for investment opportunities that are feasible
– Support other team member(s) in project appraisal and approval, as required
• *Monitoring & reporting**:

– Participate and prepare for evaluation, structuring and execution of transactions up to the first disbursement and hand over to the Operations Department.
– Follow-up with clients and co-financiers to ensure compliance with effectiveness conditions and process the first drawdown requests internally to facilitate timely fund disbursements.
– Transfer investment files to the operation team after the first disbursement and provide support on ongoing basis.
• *Stakeholder Management**:

– Initiate and maintain relationships with all relevant stakeholders in order to continue to grow ICD operations with the corporates and infrastructure projects of target countries
– Maintain relationships with clients during the project lifecycle and ensure that project objectives have been met and support Portfolio Management team in managing customer relationship post-project handover
– Maintain pulse on the macroeconomics and microeconomics of the countries of the portfolio clients.
• *Developing FI Channels**:

– Identify opportunities to enhance development impact across ICD member countries by providing an array of credit and project financing products and services to corporates and infrastructure projects.
– Expand ICD’s reach to markets and/or client base by capitalizing on new/existing channels to support the various sectors by providing credit and project finance products.
– Identify opportunities and enhance financing to corporates and infrastructure projects.

Qualifications/ Professional Experience
– At least 3 years of experience in corporate finance and/or project finance at reputable bank(s)/
