Technology teams in the UK work closely with our global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. They also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank. Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps Engineers, IT Architects, Front and Back End Developers, Infrastructure specialists, Cyber experts, as well as Project and Programme managers.

The Managed File Transmission Team is responsible for managing file transfers for both internal and external customers of HSBC via the shared file gateways on a variety of different platforms, products, technology and standards supporting file transfers across the HSBC Group for all lines of businesses.

In this role you will:
• Work with senior leaders to deliver on complex, enterprise-level initiatives that are a part of the bank’s overall strategic direction.
• Define / develop and assess the MFT Security Policy along with driving key Infrastructure Services strategies for self-service infrastructure, self-healing for infrastructure break fix, fully automated governance, and even drive towards a future state of immutable infrastructure.
• Perform complex risk assessments and threat modelling to support new technologies or design pattern.
• Effectively communicate the conceptual and logical design of holistic enterprise security solutions.
• Create and present architecture strategies, roadmaps, and design patterns for technical and non-technical audiences.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Significant experience developing security policy, threat modelling and determining risk in a global enterprise.
• Working experience on Linux Fundamentals and Scripting, PowerShell and Python.
• Possess practical knowledge and appreciation of various aspects of distributed service design, including messaging protocols, caching strategies and autonomous software design practices.
• Understanding of end-to-end business/functional processes with industry vertical/sub vertical to be able to translate business requirements into system requirements and perform impact analysis of changes in requirements

This role is based in Sheffield .
