Job Brief:
The IT Configuration Management Manager is responsible for overseeing the configuration management process for the organization’s IT infrastructure, applications, and related assets. This includes maintaining an accurate and detailed configuration management database (CMDB), managing change requests, and ensuring the integrity of the IT environment. The manager will work closely with IT teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to implement and maintain effective configuration management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization’s configuration management policies, processes, and procedures.
• Oversee the configuration management team responsible for documenting, tracking, and managing changes to IT assets.
• Manage the configuration management database (CMDB), ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
• Review and approve changes to the IT environment through a formal change management process.
• Provide… configuration management reports and metrics to IT leadership and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers, system/application owners, and IT teams to integrate configuration management into project lifecycles.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and implement enhancements to the configuration management program.
• Implement service modelling through defining the relationships between configuration items up to the offered bank services.
• Create visual interface to demonstrate change impacts using the available tools.
• Integrate CMDB with service catalogue.
• Integrate CMDB with incident, problem and change management.
• Relate business applications to other integrated configuration items.
• Facilitate change impact assessments through identifying the impacted services due to any change.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and best practices for configuration management.
• Provide training and guidance to IT staff on configuration management practices.
• Create reports and dashboards for monitoring and maintaining configuration items up to date.
• Work closely with infrastructure teams to capture all updates on the information systems.
• Evaluating Success
• CMDB KPIs will be assessed across IT domains:
• Percentage of changes related to configuration items
• Percentage of incidents mapped to configuration items.
• Percentage of undiscovered configuration items
• Percentage of auto discovered Configuration items to those manually done.
• Periodical monthly increments of configuration items
• Percentage of items discovered without change requests
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or management IT, and related field
• ITIL Certificate
• 6-10 years of experience
• In-depth experience in change management of a technology platform
