Role Description

An SRE Engineer will deliver business benefits by building automation routines that are focused on removing manual processes and manual activities from a specific group or area. Candidate will play an important role in the resolution of major (P3C+) or complex incidents affecting business. Automation areas of focus include provisioning, request fulfilment, self-healing, infrastructure as code and incident orchestration

Your Key Responsibilities
• Designing, building, deploying and supporting automated processes that reduce manual effort
• Collaboration with engineering, architecture, production teams & business in order to develop effective solutions
• Delivery of solutions, ready for production and equipped with all information capable of BAU management
• Participation in the On-Call rota as per the Product requirement
• Work alongside Problem Management team, for the root cause diagnosis of the major incidents, ensuring timely fixes & improvements to avoid recurrences
• Regular participation in the squad scrum ceremonies to gain good understanding of the product & prioritise production backlog affecting production stability and toil
• Developing & improving Flow monitoring in close partnership with other SREs in the Product Tribe(s)
• Build informative dashboards, monitoring critical user journeys(SLO) that deliver actionable insights & alerting

Your Skills And Experience
• Good understanding of SRE best practices(SLI,SLO) & it’s implementation utilising GCO, New Relic or equivalent tools
• Technical background and relevant experience (3-5+ years) is essential.
• Proficient at coding in languages such as Shell /Perl/Python (good to have but not mandatory).
• Conversant with industry standard automation development technologies around areas such as RPA (good to have but not mandatory), infrastructure and process automation
• Good hands-on experience with Monitoring tools preferably Geneos. Experience of anyone tool is good to have.
