What is the opportunity
This is a new leadership position within UK Operations and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and implement the customer strategy for Retail UK customer loan solutions. This role will operate at a senior level and have input and influence over a number of key strategic initiatives.
In this role you will:
• Ensure the team formulates and executes compliant customer support strategies
• Ensure innovative management of customer engagement and delivery of sustainable customer solutions
• Develop and execute strategies across different loan portfolios to enhance NPE resolution effectiveness and achieve OKRs
• Ensure high quality reporting to ExCo and Board
• Build and enhance strong working relationships with relevant Retail UK and Group areas
• Effectively represent the business and sponsor initiatives and change at governance meetings and fora up to Board level
• Senior interface with Regulators, Rating Agencies and other key external… stakeholders.
• Chair the Retail UK NPE Governance Forum
What will make you stand out?
Extensive leadership experience in financial services including customer portfolio and credit, compliance and regulatory risk management.
Extensive experience of collaborating, challenging and influencing at senior levels including ExCo and Board
Extensive experience of leading a team of risk management professionals
Proven track record in loan origination and credit management across Household and/or Non-Financial Corporation lending products.
Proven track record in building strong effective relationships with Credit Management, Risk oversight and Internal Audit teams.
Demonstrable understanding of loan portfolios and business markets in which the Bank of Ireland operates.
Consistent track record of regulator engagement

Customer Loan Solutions UK is responsible for the management and support of customers in financial difficulty across Mortgages, Consumer (Loans / Overdrafts / Asset Finance) and Commercial (Loans/ Overdrafts / Asset Finance). The team also handles the underlying credit and compliance risk associated with customers in financial difficulty, and handles customers in pre and early arrears and Non-Performing Exposures. The team of approximately 150 colleagues is primarily based in Bristol, Belfast and Dublin.
