Person hired into this role will manage and deliver the Open Account end-to-end product objectives in alignment with global objectives for the product line, including financial and non-financial performance, enhancement of capabilities, product and client access strategies, as well as oversight of risk and governance in alignment with the global trade strategy. Responsibilities Articulate Open Account product vision for UK/Switzerland including positioning of open account product against priority clients. Provide business development and strategic direction across Open Account trade products suite. Develop and commercialize open account product solution for clients to deepen share of wallet as well as for new clients to gain market share. Understand customer needs and challenges to size future opportunities. Capture competitor intelligence and regulatory information and use it to develop or reinforce our competitive edge to improve sales and marketing performance. Oversee end to end… product life cycle management of Open Account products including strategy, product design, commercialization, financial performance and risk governance. Lead the growth of Open Account Trade solutions for UK/Swiss clients, and inbound clients needing trade solutions booked in UK. Contribute to the business budget targets of overall trade revenue for TB Europe by managing and supporting the business growth of open account trade business driving both booked and origination metrics. Manage Open Account products across client segments booked in UK and aboard with end-to-end responsibility and oversight over strategy and key metrics (revenue, utilization & replacement ratios, RWA, returns, etc). Drive active engagement with Sales, Coverage, Structuring, Operations, Implementation and other key stakeholders to ensure appropriate support for deal prospecting and closure. Develop and own go-to-market approach collaborating closely with coverage and sales teams. Execute regional deployment of global trade open account product developments/functionality with local and central teams. Demonstrate active product life cycle management through delivery of monthly financial data; annual assessments of products, ensuring they are Fit for Purpose & Growth. Ensure appropriate governance is in place for managed products and work with relevant stakeholders to ensure the product complies with all process and policy guidelines. Assess new trends and provide feedback to link those with current offering and impact to clients. Work closely with Channels team to drive further digitization with clients. Maintain high level of client contact, including client fora, workgroups, industry events and client meetings to ensure continuous improvement and positioning of Standard Chartered solutions. Monitor competitive positioning and provide comparison/positioning analysis to drive new initiatives. Represent the regional client needs and developing needs in any global initiatives to ensure client’s feedback is incorporated into product design and strategy. Commercialize proprietary as well as third-party channels in alignment with Group guidance and strategy. Support due diligence of third-party channels when supportive of the regional and global business strategy. Conduct training and workshops for internal stakeholders across specific solutions or initiatives. Regular webinars and engagement with Sales, Coverage and Operations to further strengthen Trade Product knowledge including planning and driving Trade Training calendar across the region as required. Create industry value propositions, with quantifiable, differentiated benefits and build pipeline and focus. Drive global and regional product initiatives for booked and originated perspective for example- Export Drive, Value added trade growth campaigns etc. Develop junior talent across the trade team in UK. Identify and mitigate Operational, Credit, Regulatory, and Business Conduct risk relating to trade. Work with operations to improve overall service standards and to ensure that the quality of service to customers remains superior to the competition. Skills and Competencies Extensive regional or global product management experience in Trade Finance with a trade Bank or reputable trade platform. In depth knowledge of Open Account products including receivables/payables finance, supply chain finance, borrowing based trade loans. Ability to keep abreast on changes in the market, customer requirement, competitor response and the Banks ability to use information to identify new business opportunities. Depth of understanding of financial regulation impacting International Trade Business. Proven ability to commercialize different product aspects both internally and towards clients. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence directly, indirectly and virtually across the Standard Chartered Bank network.
