Description:
The Department Head – International Branches & Representative Offices will have the overall responsibility of managing and ensuring effective operation of the International Branches and Representative Offices, and guiding the team in providing superior client experience, promoting Doha Bank products and services in the respective regions to meet strategic sales and international business growth objectives. The incumbent will direct the business planning efforts and in meeting profitability targets, monitor the team to ensure adherence, with operational controls, and applicable laws and regulations. The job holder will update on local market trends and formulate region specific strategies in close coordination with the Head of International Banking and the team. The incumbent will also guide and manage the team, their performance, and goal/target achievements.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Head of International Banking to formulate and implement strategic business… growth plans for the International Branches and Representative Offices.
• Develop international market entry / market penetration strategy, including but not limited to budget outlines, Locations, Opportunities, risks, and marketing efforts, and the time frame to ensure sound decisions and return on investment.
• Direct the formulation, and, oversee effective implementation of the international expansion and support plans and policies, in line with the Doha Bank’s strategic business objectives in close coordination with the Head of International Banking.
• Update self on the current industry trends, economic events, regulatory requirements/changes set by QCB and other relevant government bodies, and, inform the HO functions, and implement adequate changes in the department,
• Develop and maintain robust working relationships with internal/external stakeholders to facilitate and capitalize on functional / operational/ strategic needs.
• Formulate annual business estimates including product revenue, promotional plans and operational expenditure for the international branches and Representative Offices.
• Ensure that regional revenue and profitability targets are met through effective management of relations with the respective internal / external stakeholders’, and control of office expenditure budget.
• Manage the international expansion plans in terms of formulating proposals on location viability, budget for the international operations, resource allocation, risk parameters, and marketing possibilities, in close coordination with the relevant stakeholders.
• Oversee the creation/ implementation of an operating model for the international market of focus.
• Guide the team in effective account relationship management to optimize customer acquisition, retention and wallet share through provision of customized banking solutions.
• Ascertain key relationships within the respective regions and guide the team in developing proactive strategies to support business growth within the respective regions.
• Lead special projects within the department, with emphasis on budget readiness, resource allocation and project deliverables.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualification
• University graduate with a degree in Business or Banking or Finance or any other related discipline.
• Master’s degree in Management any other related discipline will be an added advantage.
Experience
• At least 15 years’ experience in a similar position. Experience in experience In International Banking/ correspondent banking in a management capacity with a strong understanding of the global banking industry
