Background:
Our client is a US merchant bank comprised of private markets asset management, business consulting services, and technology development and solutions. As an employee of the newly established entity in Saudi Arabia, the Corporate Banking professional will be actively sourcing and developing relationships with small and medium corporate clients, assessing their creditworthiness, structuring and presenting customized loan packages, and managing the loan origination process from initial contact through to closing, ensuring compliance with all regulations while maximizing profitability for the bank
Responsibilities:
Client acquisition and relationship building:
• Identify potential corporate clients, build strong relationships with key decision-makers, understand their financial needs and business goals to identify suitable loan products.
Credit analysis and underwriting:
• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of prospective clients including reviewing financial statements, cash flow projections, and credit reports to assess creditworthiness and determine appropriate loan terms.
Loan structuring and proposal development:
• Design customized loan packages based on client needs, including loan amount, interest rate, repayment schedule, and collateral requirements.
Negotiation and deal closing:
• Negotiate loan terms with clients, prepare loan documentation, and manage the loan closing process including coordinating with legal, compliance, and other internal teams.
Portfolio management:
• Monitor existing loan portfolios, ensuring compliance with loan covenants, identifying potential credit risks, and taking necessary actions to mitigate risks.
Market analysis and trend identification:
• Stay updated on market conditions, industry trends, and regulatory changes impacting corporate lending to identify new business opportunities.
Requirements:
• Minimum 5+ years of recent, relevant experience in a similar role – ideally within the corporate banking department of a large financial institution
• Understanding of private credit asset classes
• Financial analysis: Strong understanding of financial statements, credit analysis tools, and ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Business acumen: Knowledge of various industries, business models, and economic factors impacting corporate clients.
• Relationship building: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain strong client relationships.
• Compliance knowledge: Awareness of relevant banking regulations and compliance requirements related to loan origination.
• Loan structuring expertise: Ability to design creative and customized loan structures to meet client needs.
