Role Description
This is a full-time on-site Branch Manager (Retail Liabilities) role in Mumbai. The Branch Manager will oversee the retail liabilities business within the assigned branch, manage customer relationships, drive sales, and ensure operational efficiency. They will be responsible for leading a team, implementing strategies to meet targets, and maintaining compliance with banking regulations.
Leading the branch and expanding the business.
• Oversee all branch operations, ensuring they are aligned with the bank’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage cash flow, daily transactions, and ensure compliance with internal controls and security procedures.
• Monitor branch performance in terms of operations, efficiency, and customer service quality.
• Ensure that the branch meets or exceeds performance goals related to sales, revenue, and customer satisfaction.
• Develop and implement strategies to meet sales targets and expand the customer base through new client acquisition and cross-selling of banking products and services.
• Drive growth in key retail banking products (e.g., savings accounts, loans, mortgages, insurance, credit cards, etc.).
• Identify and capitalize on business opportunities in the local market to increase branch revenue and brand presence.
• Monitor and review staff sales performance, ensuring effective coaching and motivation.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring high satisfaction levels and resolving any issues or complaints in a timely and effective manner.
• Conduct regular customer meetings and reviews to understand their needs and offer appropriate banking solutions.
• Ensure the branch is known for excellent customer service, with a focus on retaining and growing relationships with high-net-worth individuals and key clients.
• Lead, motivate, and manage branch staff, ensuring high performance and a positive work environment.
• Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide coaching and training to branch staff to enhance their skills and capabilities.
• Manage staffing schedules, ensure adequate coverage, and address any staffing concerns to ensure smooth operations.
• Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting open communication and teamwork.
• Ensure that all branch activities are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, bank policies, and industry standards.
• Conduct regular audits of branch operations to identify and address potential risks or compliance issues.
• Implement and enforce proper internal controls and procedures to mitigate fraud, operational risks, and financial discrepancies.
• Oversee the branch’s financial performance, ensuring that it meets its budgeted goals and financial objectives.
• Monitor expenses, manage operating costs, and ensure the branch operates within budgetary limits.
• Provide regular financial reports to senior management on branch performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial results.
• Implement and execute local marketing initiatives to promote the branch’s products and services in the community.
• Represent the bank at local events, community activities, and business functions to increase brand visibility and attract new clients.
• Build relationships with local businesses and organizations to expand the branch’s reach and influence.
Qualifications
• Experience in Retail Banking, Sales, and Customer Relationship Management
• Knowledge of Banking Operations and Compliance
• Strong Leadership and Team Management skills
• Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills
• Analytical Thinking and Problem-solving abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
• Relevant certifications in Banking or Finance are a plus
