Job Purpose
Assist the Head of Finance in overseeing all finance activities of FAB Capital (FABC) and work closely with the Group Finance stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial records. The AVP, Finance is responsible for:
• Supporting the Head of Finance to ensure the Finance Function of the branch is in line with GF polices.
• Preparation and presentation of Quarterly and Annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, CBB requirements, and local accounting GAAP.
• Collaborate with branch management to develop and manage the branch’s annual budget. Monitor and analyse financial performance and provide recommendations to achieve financial goals.
• Review the monthly financial performance of the branch and conduct analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for revenue enhancements and cost optimization.
• Ensuring the compliance with local regulatory reporting requirements and is responsible for completion of reviews related activities in line with implementation of the Financial Control and Governance Framework.
• Work closely with other departments such as Coverage, Risk Management, Operations, Compliance, and IT to support cross-functional initiatives and projects and provide financial guidance and recommendations.
• Assist the external auditors during the audit of the branch’s financial statements and collaborate with GIA in auditing the finance function of the branch.
Key Accountabilities:
Financial Reporting:
• Preparation and presentation of annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or Local accounting GAAP
• Review the system generated monthly trial balance and making appropriate adjustments.
• Provide the Group Finance with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
• Keep abreast of technical developments relevant to the finance function including changes affecting reporting.
• Maintain the country’s external relationship with external auditors and fulfill the audit requirements.
Regulatory and Taxation Reporting:
• Preparation of Regulatory Reports and ensure deliverables to all stakeholders are met on timely basis.
• Ensure that the regulatory returns in compliance with the respective country regulatory requirements and provide the information required for the group regulatory reporting.
• Timely submission of tax reporting as per respective regulatory and Head Office requirements.
Management Reporting
• Provide analysis of country/unit performance by LOB/customer segment & other KPI including insight to customer revenue contribution & is aligned to group reporting.
• Investigate all material variances vis-à-vis previous month’s submission to ensure numbers make sense and pro-actively prepare for queries by regulatory authorities & internal stakeholders.
• Reviewing the overall accounts through analytical review process & sense check, wherever discrepancy have been noticed the same needs to be investigated for.
• Review product programs and functional designed document from finance perspective for accounting and reporting aspects.
• Ensure that all Management reporting requirements are met with timely delivery to all internal and if applicable external stakeholders. This includes budgets, forecasts, and actuals.
• Ensure the cost allocation framework for enablement functions meets local and group requirements.
Control Environment
• Follow the regular process of AOV (Account ownership Attestation) and provide HO AOV team with the CT requirements.
• Compliance with Group’s ORM policy framework which includes Annual RCSAs.
• Completion and rectification of internal and external audit comments within target dates and in line with Group Financial Control and Governance Framework.
• Monitor Capital & Liquidity Regulatory Ratios.
• Maintain direct Finance internal stakeholder relationships Internal Audit, Compliance, Risk.
• Prepare monthly review of all general ledger reconciliations ensuring proper governance over the management information reported.
Financial Operations / Activities
• Prepare annual budget and forecast submission.
• Prepare the Performance Report/Presentation as and when required by Country management as well as international.
• Ensure completion of activities related to systems implementation / other project initiatives such as documentation of business requirements and user acceptance testing from finance function perspective.
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a relevant field.
Experience
• Minimum 4 years of post-degree experience in banking or finance sector performing financial accounting and reporting activities.
• Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Strong knowledge of banking products, services, and regulations.
• Systems knowledge and advanced level of expertise in MS Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.
Skills
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
